Why don't I see Balayage or Highlights on the service menu?
If you're looking for balayage or highlights, these fall under my Full Dimensional Blonding service. I don’t list specific techniques like balayage as individual services because the technique used isn’t something you need to worry about—that’s my job! Balayage is just one method, not a specific look, and that look can be achieved in many different ways.
What is a dimensional look?
A dimensional look is incorporating multiple tones and colors into your desired outcome. If your inspiration picture has at least two different colors going on, it would be dimensional, unlike an all over color or platinum blonde where the hair is a solid color root to tip.
What if I want to be blonde but with little peekaboos of pink, purple or any fun color?
If you are wanting to add a fun vivid color (red*, blue, pink, purple, green, yellow, orange, etc.) Your service would then be considered a Custom Color.
*Red can be considered a natural color or vivid color, this depends on your desired outcome.
What service should I book for a split dye, calico hair, or when I want unique hair?
If you want color blocking of any sort, it would (most of the time) be a Custom Color. If the change is going to be quite significant, such as highlights to solid blonde, it would then be a Color Transformation.
What is the difference between a Custom Color and a Color Transformation?
A Color Transformation would be if you are needing additional treatments to remove permanent color or specialized techniques. Or if you are going from one color to an all over platinum blonde. This would also be the service for you if you have a major at home mistake that needs to be fixed. (think Brad Mondo videos)
A Custom Color would be the service for you if a simple Full Dimensional Blonding isn't detailed enough for you or you specifically want to add fun vivid colors to your hair. Custom Colors are my most popular services.
Where is Alchemy Beauty located?
Alchemy Beauty is located in Sandy, UT near South Towne Mall off 10600 South. Alchemy Beauty is located inside of IMAGE Studios, in suite 119, which is straight ahead, past the sitting area, and towards the bathrooms when you walk into the building.
How long do vivid colors last?
Vivid colors are designed to fade over time, but with proper care, they can last longer. On average, they can last up to 40 washes, though this depends on your at-home maintenance. To keep your vibrant color looking fresh, try washing with cold water, using high-quality color-safe shampoo and conditioner, washing less often, and reducing the heat settings on your styling tools.
Do I have to fill out the digital consultation?
The digital consultation isn't required to book an appointment, but it’s a great way to ensure everything goes smoothly and that we’re aligned on your hair goals. After booking, you'll receive a message about completing the consultation, so there's no need to fill it out beforehand. The consultation is also a chance to answer any questions you might have before your appointment.
